About

John's work explores design through the integration of materials, biology and technology in relation to context specific environments. Spending five years with Zaha Hadid Architects, John worked as a Senior Architect leading teams to design and construct over 10,000,000 sq.ft. of large scale buildings and skyscrapers throughout Europe and Asia.  Previously, he has worked as a designer for the offices of Greg Lynn Form and Frank Gehry Architects on projects ranging from small scale proto-types to master plans. John has taught international design build seminars and workshops with the Southern California Institute of Architecture and the Architectural Association.  He has also held a position as a graduate studio faculty member at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. While at SCI-Arc he was part of the team to initiate the Robotics and Simulation Lab in collaboration with Staubli Robotics.  John is currently pursuing his research in large scale robotic design and construction in the MIT Media Lab's Mediated Matter Group.
